SEMARANG - Semarang City Government, Central Java, handed over regional grants to the General Election Commission and the local Election Supervisory Agency amounting to Rp96 billion for the 2024 Regional Head Election.
Semarang Mayor Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu said the signing of the Regional Grant Agreement (NPHD) was carried out on Thursday (9/11) night with the KPU and Bawaslu Semarang City.
"This signing is in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs to immediately sign the NPHD to support the 2024 Pilkada," said Ita, Hevearita's nickname, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 10.
Ita said the grant funds given to the KPU amounted to Rp79 billion, while Bawaslu received Rp17 billion.
"The grant for the implementation of the regional election is included in the Semarang City Government budget (APBD). In early 2023, we were asked to budget for the needs of the KPU and Bawaslu," he said.
With this NPHD, Ita hopes that all activities of organizing and supervising the 2024 Semarang City Pilkada by the KPU and Bawaslu will run smoothly.
Semarang City KPU chairman Henry Casandra Gultom explained that the signing of the NPHD was in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 900.1.9.1/5252/SJagar then coordinated with the local government regarding the signing of the NPHD.
The Semarang City KPU is currently still waiting for the General Election Commission (PKPU) regulations regarding the stages of holding the regional elections.
"We will complete the administration first, regarding the NPHD and the administration we will complete after the signing. Later this fund will be disbursed for 14 days according to Permendagri 41 of 2020. There is a 40 percent and 60 percent disbursement mechanism," he said.

Similarly, the Head of Semarang City Bawaslu Arief Rahman said Bawaslu would get a budget sourced from a grant of IDR 17.1 billion.
"In the 2024 Regional Head Election, we have received a grant budget from the Semarang City Government of IDR 17.1 billion," he said.
