Cenderawasih Military Command Deploys 89 Alutistas To Secure 2024 Elections In Papua

JAYAPURA - Kodam XVII / Cenderawasih deployed 89 main defense system equipment units (alutsista) in the form of tactical vehicles (rantis) to secure the 2024 general election (election) in Papua, especially in areas prone to disturbances by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Maj. Gen. Izak Pangemanan said areas prone to KKB disturbances include Yahukimo Regency, Bintang Mountains, Nduga and Puncak Regency.

"For this reason, we will hold troop gatherings in places prone to KKB and while 24 other areas in Papua are in safe condition," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 10.

According to Izak, personnel in the ranks of the XVII/Cenderawasih Military Command will be prepared to secure the holding of elections in four provinces, namely Papua, South Papua, Papua Mountains and Central Papua.

He explained that his party is ready to secure the 2024 General Election in 29 regencies and cities in Papua which includes 577 districts and 5,301 villages.

"For this reason, Kodam XII/Cenderawasih has held preparedness at four points, namely Jayapura, Biak, Merauke and Timika," he said.

In securing elections in Papua, said Izak, his party together with the Papua Regional Police together with stakeholders in the area carried out election safaris to each region.

"The goal is to socialize the implementation of elections as well as to hold a peace declaration," he said.
