Prabowo-Gibran Please New Chief Justice Of The Constitutional Court Suhartoyo Not Moved By Political Intervention

JAKARTA - Deputy Commander of Bravo National Campaign Team (TKN) Prabowo-Gibran, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, supports Suhartoyo's election as Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) replacing Anwar Usman who was dismissed by the Constitutional Court Honorary Council (MKMK). Herzaky said that his party respects what has been decided by the Constitutional Court. However, he hoped Suhartoyo would not go away by political intervention.

"We appreciate whatever the decisions of the Constitutional Court judges. The names chosen as chairman are of course the best choices of the Constitutional Court judges there. We respect the independence and independence of the Constitutional Court," Herzaky told reporters, Friday, November 10.

Herzaky hopes Suhartoyo can restore public trust in the Constitutional Court after the ethical violation proven by Anwar Usman regarding the decision on the age limit for the vice presidential candidate. The Head of the Democratic Party Bakomstra also believes that the Constitutional Court under Suhartoyo's leadership will be strong against political intervention from any party.

"We hope that the dignity of the Constitutional Court can be maintained. It will not falter by any political intervention. We believe that the Constitutional Court can remain the guardian of the constitution and law in this country," said Herzaky.

It is known that the Constitutional Court officially elected judge Suhartoyo as chairman of the Constitutional Court replacing Anwar Usman on Thursday, November 9. Suhartoyo promised to be open to criticism if his leadership was deemed not good.

"If indeed we have something that is not good in the future, it's okay for both of us to be criticized," Suhartoyo told reporters at the Court Court Court Courtroom, Central Jakarta on Thursday, November 9.

Suhartoyo also admitted that he did not want to be allowed to make mistakes if the Constitutional Court made mistakes. He said he would avoid the existing mistakes being big and fatal to the Constitutional Court institutions. "If left unchecked, it is the same then making the embryo (problem) something big and then fatal," Suhartoyo said.
