Night Entertainment Workers Demonstrate At The Makassar City Hall Office In South Sulawesi

Police are now investigating the demonstration of night entertainment workers at Makassar City Hall, South Sulawesi (Sulsel)

MAKASSAR - The police are now investigating the demonstration of night entertainment workers at the Makassar City Hall, South Sulawesi. This demonstration was held because of the protests for the extension of the night decided by the Acting Mayor of Makassar, Rudy Djamaluddin.

"It's still being explored", said the Head of Public Relations of the Makassar Police, Kompol Supriady Idrus, to reporters, Friday, February 12.

The demonstration by the night entertainment workers was said to have had no permission from the police. Therefore the police moved to ask several people for information regarding the action at Makassar City Hall.

"There was no permit for the crowd to go out. There were already six people being questioned. The witnesses related to the crowd were at City Hall, wait for the results of the examination because the case will still be held", said Supriady.

Previously, there were hundreds of protesters from Makassar City Night Entertainment Workers (THM), surrounding the Makassar City Hall office. On the sidelines of the action oration, the crowd played DJ music. While dancing, they demanded a curfew policy.

Acting Mayor of Makassar Rudy Djamaluddin responded to the action of the night entertainment workers. He said handling COVID-19 already has its own rules.

"The policy of the central government regarding handling COVID-19 is clear.

"Of course, I think the police and the Task Force Team have seen how to evaluate the violators of health protocols, our people are asking to be followed up", Rudy Djamaluddin told reporters on Wednesday, February 10.
