"The perpetrator has been secured, is undergoing legal proceedings," said Garut Police Chief AKBP Rohman Yonky during a press conference on the disclosure of the case of the discovery of the body of a child in Garut, Monday, November 6. He said that the victim was a 13-year-old student whose body was found in the Cimanuk River, Babakan Serang Village, Cibiuk Kaler Village, Cibiuk District, Friday, November 3. Police, he said, carried out further investigations regarding the discovery of a child who had previously been reported missing since a week ago before the victim was found dead. He conveyed the results of an investigation that the victim died because he was abused with evidence of injuries such as an incision to the neck and hand. The results of the investigation, said the Police Chief, it was known that the person himself was still under the age because he was not happy and hurt at the victim while playing volleyball. "He did not accept it, because during volleyball he often hit his face or head," he said. he said while bathing in the Cimanuk River, the perpetrator then abused the victim who caused the victim to suffer an injury in the neck and hand. The victim was abandoned and reported missing, until finally found in the riverbank in a state of death. "The origin of his actions was subject to the same article, but for handling the child has been regulated, according to the rules," he said.

Head of the Garut Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Ari Rinaldo, added that there was only one perpetrator, and currently there has been legal proceedings in accordance with the applicable laws in handling cases of children in conflict with the law. As a result, his actions were charged with Article 76c in conjunction with Article 80 paragraph 3 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection and or Article 340 of the Criminal Code, subsidiary to Article 338 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of 15 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 3 billion and / or a death penalty or life imprisonment.
