JAKARTA - The Semarang Police have arrested the perpetrator of the murder of a woman whose body was found in the cupboard of one of the rooms at the Royal Phoenix Hotel, Jalan Sriwijaya, Semarang City, Central Java (Central Java).

Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said the suspect named Okta Apriyanto (30) was arrested just six hours after escaping from the scene.

"The suspect was arrested while fleeing to Wonosobo," said Kapolda Ahmad Luthfi in Semarang as reported by Antara, Friday, February 12,

The perpetrator is a resident of Jaraksari, Wonosobo Regency who is the victim's lover, Nuraeni (30). The trigger in the murder was the attitude of the victim who was too jealous when Okta was close to another woman.

"The perpetrator was emotional, then choked the victim before he hit the floor," he said.

The perpetrator, who had been staying for about a week at the hotel, then put the victim's body in a cupboard. "The suspect is the sole perpetrator," he said again.

The perpetrator's actions, he continued, were revealed after the hotel clerk cleaned the room where the two were staying on Thursday, February 11 yesterday. For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning Murder and Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning Theft.
