SINTANG - The Yonarmed 10 Brajamusti Border Security Task Force again thwarted the smuggling of 10 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine on the unofficial route of Enteli Village, Indonesia-Malaysia border, in Ketungau Hulu District, Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan. "The 10 kilograms of methamphetamine was brought by a man with the initials RD from the direction of Malaysia because he was tempted by high wages from the dealer, so he was desperate to bring methamphetamine to Indonesian territory," said Head of Information for Kodam XII Tanjungpura Infantry Colonel Ade Rizal Muharram in Pontianak, Antara, Sunday, November 5. RD is an Indonesian citizen from Bima Regency, West Nusantara Tenggara, who works as an oil palm plantation worker in Malaysia. RD's arrest occurred when Pamtas Yonarmed 10 Brajamusti soldiers patrolled the unofficial route in Enteli Village, Ketungau District, Indonesia-Malaysia border, Sunday at around 04.15 WIB. From the hands of the perpetrators, Pamtas Task Force personnel managed to secure evidence in the form of 10 packs of tea containing 10 kilograms of methamphetamine. It is planned that the 10 packages of crystal methamphetamine will be taken to the Karangan Hall area to be handed over to someone who will contact him when he arrives at Karangan Hall. "Based on public information, the smuggling attempt was successfully thwarted by Pamtas Task Force soldiers," said Ade. Currently, the perpetrators and evidence are brought to the Tanjungpura Military Command XII to be handed over to the police to undergo further legal proceedings. Some time earlier, TNI ranks in West Kalimantan had several times thwarted drug smuggling, including on 27 October 2023 in Jagoi Babang, Bengkayang Regency, managed to catch the perpetrators who were trying to smuggle 11.08 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. Then on October 28, 2023, in Temejuk, Sambas Regency, two Malaysians and one Indonesian who tried to smuggle 15.75 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. On October 30, 2023, TNI personnel also arrested one Malaysian citizen who was carrying 21,164 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine to be smuggled into Indonesia via a rat route in Puring Kering District, Kapuas Hulu.

Furthermore, on November 5, 2023, approximately 10 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine was also thwarted which was to be smuggled through an unofficial route in Enteli Village, Ketungau Hulu District, Indonesia-Malaysia border, Sintang West Kalimantan area.
