Ahead Of The Lunar New Year, Train Passengers Jumped 3 Times Than Last Weekend

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta noted that the number of passengers began to increase by about 3 times compared to last weekend. This is because this weekend coincides with the 2021 Chinese New Year religious holiday.

Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Eva Chairunisa, said that the moment this weekend coincided with the 2021 Chinese New Year holiday on February 12-14, 2021. As a result, his party also increased the number of trains to anticipate an increase in passenger volume compared to normal normal days.

The increase in the number of passengers can be seen through the ticket booking data. The highest number of departures occurred on Thursday, February 11, 2021 or one day before the Chinese New Year religious holiday, it is recorded that today there are around 10,200 passengers departing from the Daop 1 Area of Jakarta.

"The average number of passengers per day during the long holiday has increased by about three times compared to last week's weekend on February 5, 2021, which was 2,994 passengers," he said in a written statement, Thursday, February 11.

Eva further said that, in total, in the 11-14 February 2021 period there were around 16,000 passengers departing from the Daop 1 Jakarta area on the long Chinese New Year 2021 holiday.

Of course, this data can still change considering that there may still be additional passengers who make reservations or buy go show tickets 3 hours before departure for the period 11-14 February 2021.

Eva did not forget to remind passengers regarding the new health protocol during the long religious holiday. Prospective passengers must meet the requirements before making a train trip, including showing a COVID-19 Free Letter (RT-PCR / Rapid Antigen / GeNose C19) taken within 1x24 hours before departure.

In addition, prospective child passengers under 5 years of age are not required to carry out the RT-PCR test / rapid antigen test / GeNose test for the requirements for long-distance train rides. This is in accordance with the Task Force Circular No. 7/2021 and Circular of the Ministry of Transportation No. 20/2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of People Travel by Rail Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Prospective passengers must be in good health (not suffering from flu, colds, coughs, fever), body temperature not more than 37.3 degrees Celsius, wear a personal mask and wear a face shield (faceshield) provided by KAI, following the provisions of physical distancing during at stations and on the train circuit.

"As well as being advised to wear long-sleeved clothes or jackets, always clean your hands regularly with water and soap or antiseptic liquid," said Eva.
