The DKI Orphanage Accommodates 40 Non-Jakarta Residents

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI, Ahmad Riza Patria, said that 40 percent of people who are cared for in DKI orphanages are residents from outside Jakarta.

This was conveyed by Riza Patria after visiting three social institutions belonging to the DKI Provincial Government in Cipayung, East Jakarta. Riza admitted that she did not mind that her party accommodated the residents from outside the capital.

"The total number we care for, we care for here is approximately 8 thousand people and 40 percent of them are from non-Jakarta. So, we also care for children or people we receive at the orphanage, even though they are not Jakarta residents. That is our commitment to the interests of nation and state, "said Riza, Thursday, February 11.

During his visit, Riza ensured that the implementation of health protocols to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus and monitor services continued to run optimally even in the midst of a pandemic.

The three orphanages he visited were the Tunas Bangsa Toddler Child Orphanage, the Budi Mulya 1 Tresna Werdha Social Home, and the Bina Laras Harapan Sentosa Social Home.

"I am grateful to be able to visit this orphanage in order to fulfill the input of friends in the DKI DPRD to always check. We have 29 orphanages, children aged 0 to 1 year to the elderly. The residents we guide implement 3M. For example, the elderly when sitting, sunbathe, keep wearing a mask, keep your distance, "he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Tresna Werdha Budi Mulya 1 Social Institution, Ucu Rahayu stated that even though it was a pandemic, services for residents of social institutions were still optimized.

Various activities are still ongoing with the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol. For example, dancing practice which was witnessed by Deputy Governor Ariza during the visit.

"Hopefully the community will provide care. Help the orphanage. Hopefully someone will also establish an independent or private orphanage to ease the burden on all of us," said Ucu.
