PANGKALPINANG - The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) managed to save a Yacth ship from Australia, which was adrift for two days in the Natuna Sea, Riau Islands Province (Kepri).
"Alhamdulillah, today this ship from Australia is being withdrawn to Jakarta," said Deputy for Search and Rescue and Preparedness Operations Basarnas Rear Admiral TNI Ribut Eko Suryanti in Pangkalpinang, Antara, Wednesday, November 1.
The incident of a yacht from Australia for two days adrift in the Natuna Sea entered the work area of the Pangkalpinang City Basarnas, Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel).
"From last night I was still communicating with the Indonesian consulate, the Australian side, and we are grateful that this yacht is being withdrawn to Jakarta," he said.
He stated that Basarnas is a non-ministerial government agency to provide SAR services in the field of search and rescue for all Indonesians and foreign nationals.
According to him, the embassies are very enthusiastic about protecting their citizens in Indonesia, especially when they travel and cruise at sea Indonesia.
"Alhamdulillah, several incidents in the last six months have been able to handle Basarnas well," said Ribut Eko Suryanti.
