The fire hit the Batu Putih area in Jayapura City, Papua, Wednesday, November 1. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) set up tents for affected residents.
Jayapura City BPBD Head Asep Khalid said the tent was set up about 200 meters from the location of the fire which caused 18 houses and 35 families consisting of 158 people to be affected.
"To determine the number of residents who were victims of the fire, currently officers are still collecting data," said Asep in Jayapura, Papua, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 1.
In addition to setting up tents, he said, BPBD and the Social Service also opened public kitchens to help residents affected by the fire.
