Corruption In Procurement Of Billions Of Cows In Aceh, Investigated By The Police

BANDA ACEH - Cow procurement affairs are corrupted. The police immediately named a suspect in this case.

The state financial loss in this case was estimated at IDR 3.4 billion. But the exact figure is still being calculated by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

"Investigators are waiting for the results of the calculation of state losses. If the state losses are known, it will be continued with the determination of the suspect," said Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Regional Police, Kombes Winardy, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 10.

The alleged cow corruption case in Aceh has been brought up to the investigation stage. Just waiting for the case title to determine the suspect.

"Later, investigators will conduct the title of the case for determining the suspect. The title of the case is of course after knowing how much the state has lost. To find out the state's loss, an examination is carried out by the state audit agency, namely the BPKP," said Winardy.

The case for procuring cows at the regional technical implementation unit (UPTD) of the Aceh Animal Husbandry Service came to the public in June 2020. At that time, hundreds of cows were found from the procurement that were thin. In fact, the budget for the procurement of hundreds of cows in the UPTD has reached billions of rupiah.

Previously, the Director of the Special Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Regional Police, Kombes Margiyanta, said that investigators had examined and asked for information from related parties, including procurement partners, service providers, procurement committees, and others.

The investigation of the case was not only in Aceh, but also in a number of places on the island of Java, where the cattle were brought in.

"Investigators also went to Bekasi, asking for information from suppliers and animal health officers. This is because the cows were imported from Bekasi," said Kombes Margiyanta.

Apart from Bekasi, the investigation team from the Aceh Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate also moved to Banyuwangi, East Java, to trace the origin of the skinny cow.

"The investigating team to Banyuwangi dig up information by asking a number of parties related to the procurement of the cattle. We confirm that the investigation in this case continues," said Margiyanta.
