The National Police has conducted a series of witness examinations in the alleged extortion case carried out by the KPK leadership against former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL, including Firli Bahuri. Currently, the joint investigative team is starting to analyze and evaluate the results of the investigation.

"This is still being carried out by anev (analysis and evaluation) and consolidation related to the results of the investigation conducted by investigators until last night," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, Wednesday, October 25.

Anev and the consolidation carried out by a joint team from the Directorate of Corruption Crimes at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police are aimed at determining the next steps in handling the case.

Including, deciding whether or not Firli Bahuri should be examined again. Originally, the chairman of the KPK had been questioned at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Tuesday, October 24.

The examination of Firli Bahuri is said to have lasted about 7 hours. Although the number of questions raised by investigators was not specified, Ade had conveyed that there was a confession from the chairman of the KPK regarding the meeting with Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

"If later information is still needed on FB as Chairman of the Indonesian KPK, investigators will again send a summons to FB for additional information," said Ade.

In the process of investigating the case, investigators have examined 54 witnesses. Some of them, such as Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar.

The series of cases of alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities by the KPK leadership against Syahrul Yasin Limpo began when Polda Metro Jaya received Dumas on August 12, 2023.

With the complaint, the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya collected information on the basis of a statement collection order (pulbaket) issued on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Not long after, investigators issued an investigation warrant on August 21. At this stage, a number of witnesses were examined, one of which was SYL.

Then, after the series of investigations were completed, investigators carried out a case title. As a result, a criminal element was found so that the status of the case was upgraded to the investigation stage.
