The Jeneponto Case Was Not Rape But Child Prostitution, The Victim Reported It Because She Was Unpaid

JENEPONTO - The police are still investigating the case of reports of underage girls being held and sexually assaulted by five men in Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi. The police found the latest facts regarding the case.

"The results of the investigation, case in Jeneponto Regency was not rape," said the Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Kompol Suprianto, to reporters, Wednesday, February 10.

Police Commissioner Suprianto said the initial report received by the police was the case of confinement and rape of minors. The incident occurred when one of the perpetrators invited the victim to go to the Turatea Jeneponto park.

But on the way, the perpetrator did not take the victim to the park but took the victim to one of the perpetrators' houses.

During the investigation process, the police revealed a prostitution case. The victim is known to have had sex with the perpetrator.

"This is consensual", he said.

According to Police Commissioner Suprianto, the 16-year-old female victim reported to the police because she was not paid after copulate.

"After all, the perpetrator must be processed because there is a Child Protection Law", he said.

In total there are nine perpetrators who have sex with young girls in Jeneponto. Five people have been arrested with the initials Rm, Ta, Na, Tak, and Ip.
