Golkar Gibran's Proposal To Become A Vice Presidential Candidate Was Discussed By Prabowo With The Chairman Of The Coalition Political Party

JAKARTA - The general chairman of the Gerindra Party who is also a presidential candidate (candidate) from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, Prabowo Subianto, said that the Golkar Party's proposal to nominate Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) would be discussed with the general chairman of other supporting parties.

This was conveyed by Prabowo after attending the Golkar Party National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) today, Saturday, October 21. This activity decided to propose Gibran, who is the son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as Prabowo's vice president.

"Of course we will take this proposal to the party chairman forum," Prabowo told reporters at the Golkar Party DPP, Slipi, Jakarta, Saturday, October 21.

Prabowo said this step was important because the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) was filled by many parties. The supporting parties in the 2024 presidential election include the Gerindra Party, the National Mandate Party (PAN), the Crescent Star Party (PBB), the Gelora Party, the Garuda Party, and PRIMA.

"Because we KIM consist of now eight parties, the notch of parliamentary parties, and four non-Parliamentary parties but also have roots," said the Minister of Defense.

"So usually we will have meetings, deliberations, and later we will announce our joint decision," concluded Prabowo.
