Vice President Receives Football Anti-Mafia Task Force Performance Report Regarding Score Determination Cases To PSSI Financial Transparency

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin as the person in charge of the National Sports Grand Design (DBON) received a report on the performance of the Anti-Mafia Ball Task Force (Satgas) in Jakarta.

Spokesperson for Vice President Masduki Baidlowi said there were two focuses reported by the task force to the Vice President.

"What is interesting is that the task of the Anti-Mafia Ball Task Force is that there are two focuses that were reported to the Vice President," Masduki said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 17.

First, the task force reports its duties in monitoring the possibility of match fixing, both by players, referees, and so on.

Second, the task force conveyed to the Vice President the importance of the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) which oversees national football can transparently record financial reports involving experts.

"From the report, there have been prosecutions, for example in several cases, arresting the bribe giver. (In addition) there was an examination of four referees, then the funder has been arrested, examined, and the lobbyist has also been investigated," said Masduki.

The Task Force reported that there was a promo for gambling houses that financed three national football clubs.

According to Masduki, the Vice President is very happy to receive the performance report and has high hopes for the progress of national football.

He (the vice president) told a story in the young age, if (Indonesia) played with Southeast Asia even with South Korea losing-ordinary wins. Even one time the vice president told the story, (Indonesia) brought in a team player from Russia, losing-ordinary wins. Now why come down, that's what the cause must be," he said.

Masduki said the Vice President asked for firm action on the cases of the football mafia so that there was a deterrent effect. In addition, the Vice President encouraged the Anti-Mafia Ball Task Force to conduct an investigative audit of the national football turnover which has now reached Rp5 trillion.

"The vice president is very happy and supportive of what the independent Anti-Mafia Ball Task Force is doing," said Masduki.
