Anticipating Floods, Bogor Regent Ade Yasin Asks Citizens To Be Alert To These 7 Rivers

JAKARTA - Bogor Regent Ade Yasin asked his residents to be aware of the 7 river flows as a precaution against flooding in this rainy season.

"Given the increasingly high intensity of rain, I urge residents to be prepared for floods", said Ade Yasim in Bogor, West Java, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, February 9.

According to him, 7 rivers that need to be watched out for are the Cileungsi River, Cikeas River, Cidurian River, Cianten River, Cisadane River, Cibeet River, and Ciliwung River.

The intensity of rain has been observed to be quite high in the Bogor area since last Sunday, February 7. The Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) even recorded 22 events that were dominated by floods and landslides.

Secretary of the Bogor Regency BPBD, Budi Pranowo said that 22 incidents occurred in 14 sub-districts, namely Megamendung, Cisarua, Tenjolaya, Ciawi, Citeureup, Sukajaya, Nanggung, Cijeruk, Jasinga, Dramaga, Ciampea, Tanjungsari, Cigombong, and Parung.

Although there were no casualties, dozens of these disasters resulted in several houses being submerged and damaged by landslides.

"This is temporary data until Monday, February 8 at 11.00 WIB, and it keeps changing", said Budi.
