JAKARTA - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of the Republic of Indonesia thwarted efforts to smuggle narcotics for marijuana weighing approximately 450 kilograms in the Parung area, Bogor, West Java, Tuesday, February 9 at dawn.

"The National Narcotics Agency has arrested and confiscated evidence of cannabis drugs on Jalan Raya Parung", said Deputy for Eradication of the National Narcotics Agency Inspector General Arman Depari in a written statement reported by Antara, Jakarta, Tuesday evening.

Arman explained that during the operation, the BNN team arrested 2 people and secured evidence of six drums containing marijuana. Marijuana is packaged in dozens of pipes so it resembles lemang.

"Marijuana is packaged like lemang mixed with water and patchouli oil", said Arman.

From the results of the investigation, the illegal goods were brought from Aceh by road using cargo destined for South Sentul. The plan is that it will be stored in a warehouse in the Parung area.

"The plan is to store it in a warehouse in the Parung area, Bogor. It is suspected that the owner is a prisoner with the initials PK at a correctional facility in West Java", he said.

Arman said that the two people who were arrested and their evidence have now been taken to the BNN Headquarters in Cawang, East Jakarta for further investigation.
