JAKARTA - The TNI Military Police Center (Puspom) handed over the case files for the alleged bribery case at the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) with the suspect Lt. Col. Adm. Afri Budi Cahyanto (ABC) to the High Military Authority (Otmilti) II Jakarta, at the Otmilti II Jakarta Office, Palasan, Cakung, East Jakarta.

The case file was handed over by the Head of the Basarnas Puspom TNI Case Investigation Team, Colonel Laut (PM) Jemry Matialo, to the Head of Otmilti II Jakarta, Brigadier General TNI Safrin Rahman, along with evidence and suspects.

"Apart from handing over the case files, we handed over the suspect Lt. Col. Adm. ABC and other evidence such as a cell phone, a Toyota Vios Limo and a notebook to Otmilti Jakarta," said Jemry.

Lt. Col. Admin ABC was named a suspect because he was suspected of accepting bribes in the procurement of rubble victim detection at Basarnas.

According to him, as the Administrative Coordinator (Koorsmin) of the Head of Basarnas, Lt. Col. Afri's duties include contacting private parties who have completed work and have received full budget disbursement to provide command funds.

Lt. Col. Afri also has the task of receiving command funds from the private sector.

After receiving the command funds, the suspect Afri distributed them to the Head of Basarnas, Vice Marshal Henri Alfiandi (HA), who is currently retired and a number of staff at Basarnas.

Lt. Col. Afri received command funds from PT Sejati Group amounting to IDR 3.4 billion and received money from PT Kingda Abadi Utama amounting to IDR 4.9 billion.

"So, the total amount of money the suspect received from the two companies providing detection equipment for disaster victims was IDR 8.327 billion," he said.

The suspect Lt. Col. Afri is subject to Article 12 letter a or letter b or Article 11 of Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, the case files for the Head of Basarnas, Vice Marshal Henri Alfiandi (HA), will be submitted separately.

The two suspects are being held at the AU Military Police Center military detention installation in Halim Perdanakusuma, East Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the Head of Otmilti II Jakarta, Brigadier General TNI Safrin Rahman, said that his party would study the case files that had been submitted by the TNI Puspom.

"Whether the case file meets the material and formal requirements, whether there really is a criminal act there, we will study that," said Safrin.

His party took several days to examine the case files in the name of Lt. Col. Adm. Afri Budi Cahyanto, before they were handed over to the Jakarta II High Military Court.

"So, we need more or less some time to study the case files we received today. The trial of this case will be open to the public," he said.
