Dozens Of Residents Of Cilawu Garut Poisoned By Sate Jebred, 2 People Died

Garut Regent Rudy Gunawan said 12 people who were victims of food poisoning were still receiving treatment by the medical team at health centers and clinics in Cilawu District, Garut Regency, West Java. It was reported that two people died.

"Apart from those who died, some are still being treated at the Cihideung Clinic, some are being treated at our puskesmas," said Rudy Gunawan as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 10.

The Regent has received information that there are residents who are victims of poisoning after eating leather satai snacks or often called satai Jebrud which are sold in Cilawu. They then complained of pain the next day.

"There is no problem with the purchase on Sunday, last Monday I received a report yesterday afternoon, some were being treated," he said.

From the temporary report, the number of residents undergoing treatment was 12 people.

"Our health center has 12 people (treated), two people died," he said.

The Regent ensured that the cost of medical services for all poisoned victims at the puskesmas was borne by the government.

"The financing at the puskesmas is free," said the Regent.

Separately, the Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Garut District Health Office, Asep Surachman, said that the health team had been dispatched to locations where they were still conducting field investigations to determine the cause of food poisoning.

"Still investigating the field," said Asep.
