SURABAYA - Nahdlatul Ulama figure KH Choirul Anam or familiarly called Cak Anam died at the age of 69 at the Jemursari Islamic Hospital (RSI), Surabaya City, East Java, Monday, at 05.45 WIB.

Cak Anam's younger brother, Mokhamad Kaiyis, stated that before Cak Anam died he had undergone treatment at the Jemursari Hospital for two weeks due to his declining health condition.

"Two weeks of treatment, the condition drops if the doctor says he has nerves Number 9 and 10," said Kaiyis at the funeral home located on Jalan Kutisari Indah Barat IV Surabaya, East Java, quoted by ANTARA Monday, October 9.

Kaiyis added that Cak Anam's health problems made the senior politician from East Java experience limited activities.

"Finally, I couldn't swallow food, I didn't talk at all for those two weeks," he said.
