6 Requirements For Getting Free Rice Cookers From The Government

YOGYAKARTA People will get a rice cooker based on electricity (AML) for free from the government. The provision of free rice cooker assistance is targeted this year. So what are the requirements for getting a free rice cooker from the government?

Please note, the provision of AML rice cookers is carried out in order to encourage the use of clean energy and reduce the use of dirty energy. The provisions for providing AML have also been regulated in the Ministerial Regulation (Permen) of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 11 of 2023 concerning the Provision of Electricity-Based Cooking Equipment for Households.

The requirement to get a free rice cooker is contained in Article 3 of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 11 of 2023. In the regulation there are several criteria, namely the following.

Article 4 Paragraph 1 states that PT PLN and PT PLN Batam will convey data on which prospective AML recipients meet the criteria, then will provide the data to the Minister through the Director General no later than October 31 for the implementation of the provision of rice cookers in the following year.

"For the first time, the data on prospective AML recipients who meet the criteria as referred to in Article 3 paragraph (1) letter a is submitted to the Minister through the Director General no later than 10 (ten) working days from the time this Ministerial Regulation is promulgated," reads Article 4 Paragraph 2.

Data on prospective recipients of the free rice cooker program consists of names, population identification numbers, customer identity numbers of PT PLN (Persero) or PT PLN Batam, and addresses of prospective AML recipients by including villages/kelurahan, sub-districts, districts/cities, and provinces.

The form of rice cooker assistance is explained in Article 9 which states that AML packages consist of a AML set, AML tool operating instructions, guarantee cards, and brochures recommendations for AML usage patterns.

The AML provided by the Government has benefits for feeding rice, warming food, and steaming food. AML distributed must also meet the following criteria.

AML products must also meet the provisions of SNI 7859:2013, SNI 60335-2-15:2011, and meet the minimum energy performance standards through the inclusion of energy saving labels for rice-eating energy utilization equipment.

It should be noted that AML recipients must maintain and care for AML. In addition, AML should not be traded and or transferred to other parties. AML must also be used according to the recommendations given.
