Febri Diansyah Denies Getting Document Leaks From KPK Regarding Corruption Cases At The Ministry Of Agriculture

Attorney for the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Febri Diansyah, denied that his law firm, Visi Law Office received a leaked document from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to compile a legal opinion (LO).

The objection was conveyed in response to the LO document found by KPK investigators during the search. From these findings, Febri and Rasamala Aritonang, who were also Syahrul's lawyers in the Ministry of Agriculture's corruption case, were summoned as witnesses on Monday, October 2.

"We make sure there are no leaked documents from the KPK that we received as material for the preparation of the LO," this was conveyed by Febri to VOI, Monday, October 9.

Febri said the process of making the document had been explained in front of investigators. He even invited the KPK Supervisory Board to follow up if they doubted his statement.

"It would be better if the KPK Council conducted further investigations. If necessary, if necessary, we will explain," he said.

The KPK had previously asked for information from Febri and Rasamala regarding the corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture. Both were asked about the documents allegedly containing the material of the case being handled by investigators.

"The two witnesses were present and their knowledge was confirmed, among others, related to the discovery of documents during a search at the homes of the parties named as suspects," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, October 3.

Ali said that the knowledge of Febri and Rasamala who are now lawyers needs to be investigated by investigators. "So that the alleged actions of the suspects become clearer," he said.

For information, there are three clusters of alleged corruption in the Ministry of Agriculture handled by the anti-corruption commission. The details are extortion related to positions, gratuities, and allegations of money laundering (TPPU).

The KPK is still closing a meeting about the suspect in this case. However, Syahrul is suspected of being entangled along with two of his subordinates, namely the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and the Director of Agricultural Equipment of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta.
