JAKARTA - Property company from Sinar Mas Group, PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk posted pre-sales or marketing sales revenue of IDR 6.5 trillion in 2020. Even though this achievement was not on target, the company that owned by the late Eka Tjipta Widjaja was still able to seize opportunities amidst the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to the property business.

The achievement of marketing sales of IDR 6.5 trillion, equivalent to 90.27 percent of the target set at IDR 7.2 trillion. Bumi Serpong Damai Director Hermawan Wijaya explained that the achievement was supported by the increase in demand for the company's property products at the end of the year.

"The high consumer interest can be seen from the high pre-sale rate for the last three months of 2020", said Hermawan as quoted from the disclosure of information on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website, Tuesday, February 9.

In the October-December 2020 period, the BSDE stock code recorded a pre-sale of IDR 1.8 trillion or 27.69 percent of total marketing sales. As for 2021, BSD targets pre-sales to reach IDR 7 trillion or an increase of 8 percent annually.

Hermawan is optimistic that the property industry prospects, both residential and commercial, will continue to grow this year, although it is limited compared to the pre-pandemic period. The pre-sale 2021 target will be supported by the company's three main segments, namely residential, commercial, and others.

The residential segment will be the main contributor to 2020 pre-sales with a target of IDR 4.4 trillion. BSDE's flagship products for this segment include BSD City, Nava Park, Kota Wisata, Grand Wisata, Permata Buana Park, Banjar Wijaya Park, Legenda Wisata, Grand City Balikpapan and The Zora.

Furthermore, the commercial segment carries a pre-sale target of IDR 1.6 trillion with products such as shop houses, lots and main apartments located in BSD City.

"To support the pre-sale target, we will continue to develop the property areas we have, both residential, commercial and outside sales", said Hermawan.
