Alluding To The Commotion In The Community During The Election, Jokowi Geleng-Geleng: Leaders Have Coffee Together

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) hopes that there will be no more divisions in society during the 2024 General Election (Pemilu). This is because the democratic party must run peacefully.

He made this statement during a speech at the Ala-Alap Volunteer National Consolidation Meeting at SICC, Bogor Regency, West Java, Saturday, October 7.

"Secondly, related to 2024. We hope that all of us hope that the election will run peacefully and there will be no more hate speech. Agree?" said Jokow

"There is no such thing as a hoax, fake news, do you agree?" Jokowi said.

"Agree with you," said the supporters.

According to him, elections must be carried out with cheerful and happy atmospheres. There should not be divisions in society. Because unity is the main factor behind a large nation.

"Because every 5 years there is a continuous election, there continues to exist, if each election hates each other, slanders each other, vilifies each other, demeans each other, when will this nation become a great nation? Because a great nation is if we are strong in our unity," he said.

"If this country wants to be big, it must strengthen harmony between us. Do not let the election make us divided, agree?" continued Jokowi.

"Agreed," replied the supporter.

Jokowi also admitted that he was surprised when he saw or heard of divisions in society due to the election. In fact, the election leaders or contestants have sat side by side.

'I'm also excited sometimes. The people below are still busy, the leaders above are already having coffee together. The ones above have eaten together, the ones below are still busy," he said.

Therefore, Jokowi asked the public to remind each other. Choices may be different but unity must be maintained.

"Please ask for help from all volunteers so that these volunteers become a cooling system, which makes the atmosphere cool below. Agree?" said Jokowi.

"Agree," said the supporter in a compact manner.
