Office Searched By AGO, Ministry Of Trade Commitment To Support Law Enforcement

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Ministry of Trade Suhanto supports the ongoing legal process in the process of searching for additional data that is being investigated by the Attorney General's Office.

This affirmation was conveyed in response to the search of the office of the Directorate of Imports of the Ministry of Trade.

"The Attorney General's Office came to get additional data to complete the data needed in the case being investigated. Of course, we received it well," Suhanto said in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 3.

Suhanto said that the Ministry of Trade respects the efforts to enforce law and eradicate corruption carried out by law enforcement officers.

"The Ministry of Trade is committed to assisting law enforcement and being proactive in this law enforcement process," he said.

Suhanto said that all law enforcement processes would be submitted to the Attorney General's Office. The Ministry of Trade is ready to assist in the implementation of the law enforcement process.

The Attorney General's Office of Investigation Team has conducted searches and seizures in two places, namely the office of the Ministry of Trade and the office of PT Perusahaan Perdagangan (PPI) related to sugar import cases.

At the Ministry of Trade's office, the Investigative Team conducted a search of the Minister's Administrative Room, the Director's Room for Imports and the workspace of the Chairperson of the Agricultural Product Import Team.

The confiscation and search related to cases of alleged corruption, abuse of authority in sugar importation activities at the Ministry of Trade in 2015-2023.
