Jokowi's Two-Foot Politics Is Considered To Profit Prabowo Subianto

JAKARTA - Executive Director of Poltracking Indonesia, Hanta Yuda, assessed that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) two-leg politics ahead of the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres) was more profitable for Prabowo Subianto than Ganjar Pranowo.

The reason is, Jokowi will be seen by the public as not in total in supporting Ganjar who is promoted by the PDI-P. In addition, Jokowi also more often shows his closeness to Prabowo to the public.

"The current condition is that his legs are half-hearted, in Ganjar and Prabowo. Well, another quarter are in Kaesang and Gibran. If PSI supports Prabowo, and Gibran is Prabowo's deputy, it is 100 percent of Pak Jokowi's body is in Prabowo," said Hanta in the Gelora Talk discussion, Wednesday (27/9).

On the other hand, he continued, PDIP did not dare to take a firm stance against Kaesang who was elected as PSI General Chair, because the party led by Megawati Soekarnoputri wanted to agree to be close to Jokowi.

This is because public satisfaction with Jokowi reaches 70-80 percent, wins twice the presidential election, has solid volunteers and maintains political machines, and still controls the election network because they are still in power.

Hanta also revealed that another advantage that Prabowo got was the branding reconciliation and legacy in the 2024 presidential election. This is what makes Prabowo's electability relatively stable and high, compared to Ganjar and Anies Baswedan.
