This coordination meeting discussed the acceleration of stadium repairs for the U-17 World Cup. In this meeting, the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono and the Regent of Bandung Dadang Supriatna were also present.
"So in principle, the Ministry of Youth and Sports is proactive and also supports this implementation so that in the remaining 93 days the preparation (U-17 World Cup) is more optimal and mature," said Menpora Dito after attending a closed meeting.
Furthermore, Menpora Dito said that his party together with all relevant stakeholders were in the process of brewing for the submission of a Presidential Decree (Keppres) and Presidential Instruction (Inpres) related to the implementation of the U-17 World Cup.
"Today we are in the process of probing the Presidential Decree and Presidential Instruction, hopefully it will be fast. Next is also the U-17 national team which is in good progress and PSSI will prepare further reports," said Menpora Dito.
Meanwhile, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono added that the coordination meeting discussed the details of recommendations from FIFA for four stadiums on the island of Java which will be used at the U-17 World Cup event.
Minister Basuki explained that the renovation of a number of main stadiums and supporting stadiums will be carried out. It is projected that the total budget will reach Rp 100 billion.
"Just renovations, approximately no more than Rp. 100 billion," he said.
The U-17 World Cup will take place on November 10-2 December 2023. There are four stadiums that will be prepared as venues. Among them are the Jakarta International Stadium (Jakarta), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung), Manahan Stadium (Solo), and Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya).
"Alhamdulillah, three of these are Si Jalak Harupat okay, Manahan okay, Gelora Bung Tomo okay, the pitch is okay, except for the parking lot being paved again. Jalak haruspat finished pitch stitching, meaning that the grass was sewn," explained Minister Basuki.
For the Jakarta International Stadium, continued Minister Basuki, there are still a number of things that need to be done. Including grass sewing and also some improvements to access in and out of the stadium area.
Minister Basuki explained that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will work on the internal area. Meanwhile, the Ministry of PUPR focuses on the People's Crossing Bridge (JPO).
"The division of the tasks will be carried out by the DKI Provincial Government starting from the grass and access in it. We built a JPO leading to the Ancol parking lot which is 430 meters long and 5 meters wide," he said.
Meanwhile PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir said that the repair and construction of this renovation will continue to be accelerated. In addition, Erick also said that FIFA will go to Indonesia on August 26 to check again.
"Because of the brief preparation and there are things that must be agreed upon for logistics funding and others, we want to be efficient as possible. Then the Governor of DKI and the Regent of Bandung agreed that there was indeed a distribution of work from each central and regional government," he explained.
"Menpora juga mendorong Inpres-Keppres yang sudah ada rapatnya hari ini. Insyaallah U-17 di Indonesia bisa dijamin," pungkas Erick.
