Karhutla In Nenang Penajam Paser Utara Successfully Extinguished

The joint team from various elements in Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) Regency, East Kalimantan, confirmed that forest and land fires (karhutla) in Nenang Village, Penajam District, had been extinguished.

"Today the team checked back at the forest and land fire location to ensure the situation. The results of the check, at the location are safe, no new hotspots have been observed," said Head of the PPU Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Budi Santoso as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, September 23.

In fact, the team also confirmed that the condition visually at the forest and land fires located in RT 02 Nenang Village had no potential for new hotspots to emerge, so the team returned to their respective units to be on standby again.

"The area burned in that location is about 1 hectare, while the material burned is a bushland. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the police," he said.

The joint PPU Regency team that carried out the forest and land fires was the BPBD, the Fire and Rescue Service, Polres, the Agriculture Service, and the local Satpol PP.

Previously, Friday, September 22, at 18.11 WITA, there were reports of forest and land fires in Nenang Village, which were estimated to start at 18.00 WITA.

After the incoming report, the PPU BPBD Pusdalops immediately coordinated with all related elements and headed to the location to extinguish the fire. Then monitoring is carried out.

"At 23.47 WITA, the PPU BPBD team again checked the location with safe results, no hotspots were observed. Then this morning again checked and the conditions were also safe," said Budi.
