DKI Puts Out The Lights For One Hour At 20.30-21.30 WIB

JAKARTA - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta plans to turn off lights or lighting in government buildings, symbols of the capital city to protocol roads in order to save electrical energy for one hour from 20.30 WIB to 21.30 WIB.

"Turn off the 60-minute lights, we help reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Then in order to educate the public to reduce carbon emissions, save energy electricity as well as economy," said Head of Public Relations of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Yogi Ikhwan, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, September 23.

"This blackout movement," said Yogi also in commemoration of World Ozone Day, which previously fell on September 16, 2023.

The DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency emphasized that blackouts were carried out in all government offices except for public service buildings such as hospitals, public health centers (puskesmas) and clinics.

The blackout of lighting was also carried out on the city of Jakarta symbol, including the National Monument (Monas) area, the Arjuna Wiwaha Statue area, the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, the Youth Statue, the Hero Statue and the Sudirman Statue.

The list of lighting for protocol and arterial roads that will be extinguished in Central Jakarta include Jalan Sudirman (State Dukuh Sampoerna Strategic Building), Jalan MH. Thamrin, around Jalan Medan Merdeka (except North Medan Merdeka in front of the Presidential Palace), Jalan Gerbang Pemuda, Jalan Asia Afrika, the courtyard of the City Hall Office and the Central Jakarta Mayor's Office.

Then in North Jakarta, namely Jalan Yos Sudarso, North Jakarta Mayor's Office Complex, and Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan. Then in East Jakarta, namely Jalan Dr. Sumarno, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan and the East Jakarta Mayor's Office Complex.

Meanwhile, West Jakarta is on Jalan Daan Mogot, Jalan Kembangan Raya (in front of the West Jakarta Mayor's Office), and the West Jakarta Mayor's Office Complex.

Then South Jakarta are Jalan Prapanca Raya, Jalan Sudirman (Strategic Sampoerna Building-Patung Pemuda), and Jalan Rasuna Said.

Another location that will be turned off for one hour is in private buildings, commercials, shopping centers, restaurants, hotels and apartments.
