Najwa Claims Not To Be Offended By Ganjar's Statement Regarding The Best People In Educational Institutions

Najwa Shihab explained the statement of the presidential candidate (Readpres) Ganjar Pranowo regarding the polemic of statements about the journalist profession, in the Mata Najwa on Stage Yogyakarta program at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) entitled '3 Bacappres Talks Ideas'.

According to Najwa, the context of Ganjar's discussion is the importance of the world of education being filled by good people and the best. Because, it will improve the quality of education in Indonesia, so that Indonesian Human Resources (HR) will increase.

"So it's not just about being offended, it's normal, so you don't go anywhere. Ganjar Pranowo's statement means it feels about the importance of educational institutions getting the best people," said Najwa, Thursday, September 21.

In the program, Ganjar suggested that the best graduates on campus should work as lecturers, not work in other fields.

In that context, Najwa explained, at that time he responded to Ganjar's statement because he wanted to know what Ganjar meant. Because, the statement can be misunderstood by the public.

"I certainly needed to respond at that time because of the journalist's job, right, clearing up what might still be gray. That's why I said that the journalist profession was proud," he said.

Najwa hopes that the public will understand the contents of the discussion in the program. Also, it does not have polemics with incomplete and unclear information about the context.

"I am happy with the public's enthusiasm for the various contents of yesterday's dialogue, but also hope that the public will not be trapped and only focus on detailed and controversial pieces of the conversation. But according to the original purpose of this event being held, we can fully see the ideas - the idea or the programmatic vision of each read-pres," said Najwa.

"The important thing is that we all agree, every profession, both journalists, MCs, politicians, teachers and lecturers, as well as other professions, have their respective important roles. And in each profession, the best people are really needed," said Najwa.

At that time, Ganjar suggested that the best graduates on campus should work as lecturers. "Most of the best graduates become lecturers, can they be MC?" said Ganjar.

"Who is Mas MC? I am a journalist, not MC" replied Najwa.
