COVID-19 Patients In Tulungagung Escape, Threatens Officers Using Crowbar

JAKARTA - A resident who was confirmed positive for COVID-19 chose to run away when he was visited by the COVID-19 Handling Task Force in Tulungagung Regency, East Java, Friday because he was reluctant to be quarantined / isolated at Rusunawa IAIN Tulungagung, joining other symptomatic patients.

To the officer who had persuaded him, the COVID-19 sufferer with the initials ANT admitted that he did not want to be moved from his house to the COVID-19 hostel in Rusunawa IAIN Tulungagung on the grounds that he wanted to undergo independent isolation.

"Not wanting, he feels evicted from his house," said a member of the Public Communication Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 in Tulungagung Regency, Dedi Eka Purnama, as reported by Antara, Saturday, February 6.

Until now, ANT's whereabouts are unknown.

Officers assisted by Babinkamtibmas and Babinsa have tried to search ANT, but have not found its whereabouts.

To the officer, ANT's family promised to isolate him at home.

While other family members, such as ANT's children and parents, will be evacuated to other residents' homes.

Only ANT's wife who is a close contact is planned to survive accompanying independent isolation at home.

Even so, the Task Force will still first persuade them to be isolated to Rusunawa IAIN Tulungagung.

Previously, ANT had been persuaded by health officials and village officials to undergo quarantine at Rusunawa IAIN Tulungagung, because the house of this man who works as a farmer is small and is filled with two families.

ANT insisted on refusing and even threatened officers with a crowbar.
