BENGKALIS - The Honorary Board (BK) of the Bengkalis Regency DPRD, Riau Province, issued a recommendation against Kahirul Umam and Syahrial to release their positions from the Chairman and Deputy Chairperson I of the local DPRD following the vote of distrust sent by 37 members. Chairman of the BK DPRD Bengkalis Feri Situmeang explained that BK had conducted investigations, verification, and clarifications. This is stated in Article 10 Paragraph 1 Letter b of the Bengkalis Regency DPRD Number 1 of 2022 concerning Amendments to the Bengkalis Regency DPRD Regulation Number 2 of 2020 concerning the Order of the Bengkalis Regency DPRD. "It is recommended to complete it to the leadership of the Bengkalis Regency DPRD so that Khairul Umam and Syahrial leave their positions as leaders of the Bengkalis Regency DPRD Equipment for the 2019-2024 Period," he said. In the complaint received by BK, he said, his party had twice invited Khairul Umam and Syahrial to clarify but they did not fulfill the invitation. The right to self-defense was not used and the fact that there was a walkout by 37 members when conducting technical guidance at Pekanbaru and the agenda of the Deliberative Body was not willing to be led by H. Khairul Umam. Based on the existing rules, he said, BK recommended that H. Khairul Umam and Syahrial give up the position of Chair and Deputy Chair of the Bengkalis Regency DPRD. The recommendation was then followed up by the leadership of the plenary session of Syofyan accompanied by Syaiful Ardi, Tuesday night. In the plenary session, he asked what the trial agreed with the results of the BK recommendation and the trial agreed. "The trial agreed to dismiss Khairul Umam and Syahrial from the Bengkalis DPRD leadership. We leave the mechanism to their respective parties," said Syofyan.
