Head of Narcotics Pematangsiantar North Sumatra, Negative of Drugs

MEDAN - The North Sumatra Police confirmed that the Head of Narcotics at Pematang Siantar Police, AKP David Sinaga was negative for using drugs.

"So the person concerned has been checked, the results are negative", said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, to reporters in Medan, Friday, February 5.

Police Commissioner, Hadi, shared the chronology of the viral video. The video was taken in October 2020 at Karaoke Studio 21 Pematangsiantar City.

At that time, the Pematangsiantar Police Head of Narcotics entered Studio 21 for an investigation. There he was met by a karaoke owner on behalf of Acong and 2 colleagues.

"After that, Kasat Drugs headed to the reception room. There, without realizing it, the Head of Narcotics, concerned was recorded or videotaped by the owner. That was the beginning", he explained.

Hadi said that on January 4, 2021, the Narcotics Agency and his team arrested a drug dealer at Studio 21.

"On the way (process) Acong asked for help from the Head of Narcotics Agency to be released. But with Kasat Narkoba's commitment, the narcotics actor was not released, the process would continue," he said.

"Yesterday, a video appeared on the Facebook and Youtube accounts where after being investigated, the video was faked. Where in the 1.15-second video, it shows that drugs are visible at the reception", continued Hadi.

But the Pematangsiantar Police Narcotics Unit has been deactivated. This is done to facilitate the investigation process.

"The current action being carried out has examined the person concerned to continue to be investigated. The person concerned is deactivated until the investigation or investigation meets a bright spot then the examination results will be delivered", he explained.

"Apart from that, the police will also check the entertainment venues, we are firm. The Head of Provincial Police order does not allow drug trafficking in North Sumatra", said Hadi.
