KKB Threatens War Of Newcomers, Kapolres Of Puncak-Papua: Women Keep Selling In The Market

JAKARTA - The Head of Puncak Police (Kapolres), Papua, AKBP Dicky Hermansyah Saragih confirmed that no immigrants were exodus from the area.

Police chief Dicky emphasized this following the threat of being ready for war by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB), as happened in Intan Jaya Regency.

"Until now, there are no immigrants who have left Puncak Regency in Ilaga, Beoga and Sinak. Most of these migrants work as traders. Shops and stalls in markets remain open as usual," said Saragih Police Chief in Timika. , Friday, February 5.

The social security situation in the region since the beginning of 2021 until now is quite conducive, without any disturbance.

"People in Puncak Regency carry out their usual activities. Papuan women continue to sell in the market, as well as people who plant gardens or government employees. Everything is running normally," he said.

Until now, a number of KKB factions are known to be headquartered in the Puncak Regency area, such as in Ilaga and Sinak. Even so, the ranks of the Puncak Polres continue to build persuasive communication with the group so as not to disturb the security situation in the Puncak area.

"This group has been in Puncak for a long time. We continue to approach and communicate with them to jointly maintain security in Puncak," said Saragih Police Chief.

The Puncak Polres was formed in 2020 and has a permanent command headquarters whose construction is assisted by the local government through the 2020 APBD. Currently there are 120 police personnel in Puncak Polres. The estimated personnel required is 500 people.

"We still need additional personnel, because in the future there will be the development of Pospol, Pol sub-sector and Polsek. Currently there are only three Polsek that are active in Puncak, namely Ilaga City Polsek, Beoga Polsek, and Sinak Polsek," he explained.

He hopes that in the future there will be additional personnel at the Puncak Police. Because this year there are as many as 2,000 NCO candidates from the Papua Police.
