COVID-19 Update As Of February 5: New Cases 11.749, Active Cases 176.672

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 76.373 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 11.749 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1.134.854 people and as many as 176.672 active cases", the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, February 5.

Recovered cases today increased by 9.674 so that a total of 926.980 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 201 people and a total of 31.202 people.

The province with the newest cases is in DKI Jakarta with 3.340 cases and a total of 287.233 cases. Followed by West Java which has 2.117 new cases with a total of 161.748 cases. Central Java has 1.884 new cases and a total of 132.887 cases. Then, East Java has 799 new cases and a total of 116.549 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 2.674 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2.475 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 869 recovered cases, and East Kalimantan with an increase of 553 recovered cases.

No province reported having no new cases as of today. The province that reported the fewest new cases was West Nusa Tenggara with 1 case.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 9.578.686. In detail, a total of 9.435.733 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 142.953 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 17.8 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 77.704 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, there are 744.884 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 120.725 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 181.554.465 people.
