Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited three cities in the United States (US) to promote the potential of the creative economy in Solo. "There are three cities, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington DC," said Head of the Communication and Administration Protocol Section (Prokompim) of the Solo City Secretariat Herwin Nugroho in Solo, Central Java, Antara, Wednesday, September 13. However, he did not go into detail conveying what the creative economy sub-sectors were promoted and what agendas Gibran visited. "There is tourism too, right there are sub-sectors," he said. Although promoting the potential of the creative economy in Solo, according to him, this trip Gibran did not invite the relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD). Meanwhile, according to the schedule, he said, Gibran, who went out with his wife Selvi Ananda, will return to Solo on September 15, 2023. Regarding official travel, Gibran has asked for permission from the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo. In addition, permits were also submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of State Secretariat, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Surakarta Ahyani said that Gibran's visit to Uncle Sam's country was a request from the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in New York.

According to him, the request had been submitted to Gibran six months ago. At that time, a envoy from the Indonesian Consulate General in New York came to Surakarta City Hall to meet directly with Gibran.
