DLHK Researches Thousands Of Dead Fish On Ternate Beach, Triggered By Pollution Or Environmental Support Power

TERNATE - The Ternate City Environment and Hygiene Service (DLHK) has taken samples of water and fish about the deaths of thousands of fish on the coast of Sasa Beach, Ternate City.

Head of the Environmental Pollution and Damage Control Division of the Ternate City DLHK M Syarif Tjan said the samples taken to find out that death occurred due to pollution or a decrease in the carrying capacity of the environment.

"We will conduct a sample test at the Manado laboratory to determine the cause of the fish being killed," he said when contacted in Ternate, Monday, September 11, was confiscated by Antara.

Syarif added, on the coast of Sasa Beach there is a shipyard and a tofu factory whose liquid waste can enter the beach.

In addition, he continued, there were times where the water flowed into the beach area.

Another factor that could cause mass death of fish and marine biota, said Syarif, was the phytoplankton explosion.

As previously reported, on Sunday 10 September, thousands of dead fish were found stranded in the coastal area of Sasa Village.

According to local residents, Imran, in the past month fish carcasses have often been found in coastal areas. However, not as many as found on Sunday 10 September.
