Kapolda: 5 Perpetrators Of Burning In Krambongga Fakfak Arrested

MANOKWARI - West Papua Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga said five perpetrators of the burning of district, school and persecution offices that killed the Head of Kramongga District, Fakfak Regency have been arrested.

"Currently we have arrested five people, the development is still being carried out so that this case is completely revealed," said Daniel in Manokwari as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, September 9.

He explained that of the five perpetrators, three of them were arrested first. The two perpetrators who have just been arrested are part of the 21 DPO (wanted list).

Thus, he said, the officers from the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the West Papua Police and the Fakfak Police are still pursuing 19 other suspected perpetrators to account for their anarchist actions.

"The five perpetrators who have been arrested, one perpetrator was shot and died because they resisted the police officers," said Daniel.

The Kapolda admitted that the police experienced obstacles in the investigation process to the investigation of the case because the statements given by 80 witnesses often changed.

However, he said, the results of the examination of the suspects that the arson incident that occurred in the Kramongga District were still related to the arson in the Central Fakfak District.

"All these incidents are interrelated. Dozens of perpetrators are affiliated with armed criminal groups (KKB)," said Daniel.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Papua Police, Kombes Adam Erwindi, explained that around 25 unknown people carried out destruction accompanied by the burning of the Krambongga District Office, SMP Negeri 4 Kokas, and abused the Head of Kramamongga District, Darson Hegemur, to death on Tuesday night (15/8) at 19.30 WIT.

Two days later, Friday (18/7), local residents reported that there had been an incident of burning the Central Fakfak District Office at 03.30 WIT and there were no casualties in the incident.

Adam invited all components of society in Fakfak Regency to provide information to the police if they saw the whereabouts of the perpetrators who had been included in the DPO.

He said the Police guaranteed the confidentiality of the identity of the people who played an active role in helping to reveal the two arson incidents.

"If you know the whereabouts of the DPO, please report to the nearest police station or through the Call Center 110. The identity of the reporter we guarantee is safe," said Adam Erwindi.
