TransJakarta Will Provide Priority Pins For The Comfort Of Persons With Disabilities

JAKARTA - PT Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) continues to support the convenience of people with disabilities to use public transportation as a means of mobility. Therefore, TransJakarta considers priority pins to help this.

"Yes, it can be done with pregnant women, they should also be disabled," said TransJakarta Operations and Safety Director Daud Joseph quoting Antara, Saturday, September 9.

Daud said that the proposal from one of the disabilities in the National Customer Day activities would be accommodated and it was hoped that it would soon be realized.

Meanwhile, one member of the Indonesian Women's Association, Muharyati, hopes that the government can pay more attention to people with disabilities, especially in public spaces.

"TransJakarta doesn't understand the variety of disabilities, so I ask for priority seats and disability pins," said Murhayati.

According to him, there are various disabilities that should be given different services according to their needs, one of which is mental illness.

"If you feel tired of mental illness, it is feared that there will be unwanted actions," he said.

In addition, he recommends protection from sexual violence by installing surveillance cameras at every stop such as on train services.

"Like on the train, there is already a kind of application to detect the perpetrator's face, he has sexually harassed the train," he said.

Thus, Transjakarta will continue to improve a number of services and facilities, especially for disabled customers, in order to feel comfortable and secure during the trip.

Through the official Instagram account of PT TransJakarta @pt_transjakarta, PT Transport Jakarta (Transjakarta) has Transjakarta Cares services that have been operating since 2016.

The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture said the number of people with disabilities in Indonesia reached 22.97 million people or around 8.5 percent of the total population.
