Firefighters Extinguished 3 Locations Of Forest And Land Fires In South Lampung

South Lampung - The Fire and Rescue Service (Damkarmat) of South Lampung Regency, managed to extinguish three forest and land fires (karhutla) in the local district, namely Merak Belantung Village and the door area outside the Kalianda toll road.

"The forest and land fires took place this morning in Merak Belantung Village, and thank God the team has extinguished them," said Head of the Fire Department at the South Lampung Damkarmat Service, Rully Fikriansyah, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 6.

The land fire that occurred in Merak Belantung Village was located at two points, precisely in front of Beo Beach and in front of Embe Beach.

"The one in Merak Belantung is right in front of Beonya Beach and then in the fire in front of Embe Beach right across from the street," he said.

Until now, his party is still trying to extinguish the fire at a location near kilometer 9 door outside the Kalianda toll road.

"We are still extinguishing the land fire at km 9, and the cooling process," he said.

The public is asked to increase awareness of potential forest and land fires (karhutla) during the dry season in the area.

His party also appealed to residents who crossed the road that could potentially catch fire, not to throw away cigarette butts because it could trigger a fire.

"We urge the public to be more careful in using the fire, not to throw away the remaining or cigarette butts on the side of the road because it can cause fires," he said.
