Anies Baswedan Reveals Deadlock Democrats Want AHY Cawapres Declaration Until There Is A Table Crash At Team 8 Meeting

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan's presidential candidate will reveal a deadlock in the United Coalition for Change related to the determination of the vice presidential candidate discussed by team 8. There was a table buzz, related to the insistence of the Democratic Party to immediately declare Anies-Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono as a presidential and vice presidential candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election.

In Anies-Muhaimin's open-out exclusive interview on Mata Najwudian from Mata Najwa's Youtube channel, Monday, September 4, Anies spoke about the internal conditions of the coalition regarding the exit of Democrats from the coalition and the statement of Susilo Bambang Yudhyono (SBY).

"I have great respect for Mr. SBY, he is a role model, he is a president serving 10 years, an example, but there are several facts that I have to convey," said Anies Baswedan.

In the interview with Najwa Shihab, Anies spoke about God's earlier letter regarding the decision to cooperate with Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) after the deadlock in the coalition.

"Starting weekends starting on 27, 28, 29 (August) is an intensive conversation in team 8, on the 28th there was a difference in views that could not be found," said Anies.

In June, Anies admitted that he had conveyed to Surya Paloh, NasDem, PKS and Democrats about the options available, namely Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).

"I told Pak Surya Paloh, he did not refuse. He said it was an option that we could do at the end but not now. PKS understands AHY, Democrats' available options are the same way," he said.

Then after Anies returned to Jakarta after performing the Hajj, the Democrats called Anies asked the Anies-AHY pair to be declared immediately.

"After returning home from the Democrat side, I hope that it will be declared immediately, from the NasDem side it will not be willing. That name (AHY) was not rejected but not declared now, try looking for a bridge but not found," he said.

Until finally at the 8th team meeting, there was a difference of opinion in the meeting which was also attended by representatives from the Democrats.

Until Tuesday, the Democratic envoy for team 8 had a very strong difference of opinion until a table crash. Democrats want to be set immediately, NasDem wants to be set later while waiting for who knows another option, "explained Anies.

From there, Anies sent a WhatsApp message to Sudirman Said. In the Mata Najwa program, Anies read the message while showing the WA he sent to the camera.

"To SBY, it was conveyed what it was: NasDem was not willing to declare immediately. The SP was conveyed as it was: Democrats are prepared to allow me if there is no immediate declaration, may Allah send instructions to all," said WA Anies to Sudirman Said.

Sudirman Said confirmed again to Anies the next morning. Anies spoke again about the deadlock in the coalition regarding the vice presidential candidate regarding the wishes of the Democrats.
