Karapan Sapi Piala Panglima TNI 2023: Menghasting The Pride And Heritage Of Madura Culture

BANGKALAN - Karapan sap is a symbol of pride that raises the dignity of the Madura people.

The cows used for each match are very good quality cows that receive special treatment from their owners.

On Saturday, September 2, dozens of pairs of cows from 4 districts on Madura Island, competing for the 2023 TNI Commander's Cup, at the RP Moh Noer cattle Karapan Stadium, Bangkalan Skep, East Java.

"The cattle we hold in Bangkalan are a form of concern in preserving traditional cultural arts in Madura," said TNI Commander, Admiral TNI Yudo Margono.

A total of 48 pairs of cows competed quickly on the race track for prizes for cars and motorbikes. There are 2 categories of competitions, namely large and small sizes that took place during September 2 and 3, 2023.

"This event aims to preserve Madura tradition and culture, many participate, apart from competition as well as entertainment for the community," added Yudo.

The number one person in the TNI hopes that the cattle carapan culture can continue to be preserved as an ancestral heritage. Moreover, such activities can strengthen unity and unity.

Tak hanya itu, ajang karapan sapi juga menjadi daya tarik bagi wisatawan. Sehingga, ada sisi peningkatan ekonomi yang bisa dimanfaatkan bagi daerah dan masyarakat.

"Many people come to watch, not only from Madura, many from outside, local people can sell, of course, it can improve their economy," said Yudo, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, September 2.

The Karapan Sapi for the TNI Commander's Cup is the first time it has been held, followed by champions from several competitions, so that matches are presented, like star wars.

Meanwhile, the Bangkalan Regent, Muhni, expressed his gratitude to the TNI Commander who wanted to take the time to attend the event directly to preserve Madura culture.

"The people of Madura, especially existing figures and cultural lovers, are certainly very proud and heartened by this event, he is present in our midst," said Mohni.

A number of traditional cultural arts were staged at the event, including an exhibition of handicraft products from Bangkalan residents.
