MAKASSAR - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of South Sulawesi beautifies Bira Beach, Bulukumba Regency. South Sulawesi Provincial Government seeks to attract tourists to visit the destination.

South Sulawesi Governor HM Nurdin Abdullah said that Bira Beach has been known to foreign countries and is getting denser so that the government needs to look at areas that can be developed.

Moreover, the Bira area is included in a protected forest area so that management rests with the provincial government.

"Bira is a quite beautiful tourist destination. We can see it after we have built pedestrians and road infrastructure. Now 90 percent of all are concentrating here," he said, Wednesday, February 3.

Nurdin also took the time to visit and see the progress of the development of the East Bira pedestrian in the Sulawesi Zero Point Area or Stop Area Mini Bira.

The Governor of South Sulawesi, who is familiarly called Prof. NA, asked for additional street lights and not far from the distance.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Bulukumba HM Sukri A Sappewali said that this pedestrian is the supporting infrastructure to Zero Point.

"This leads to Zero Point. Many of the Bira visitors come here. It is very beneficial," he said.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the South Sulawesi Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUTR) Edy Rahmat explained that the overall progress of this pedestrian development is around 80-90 percent. In approximately one month it will be finished.

"In three weeks or one month it will be finished again. It is budgeted that provincial government assistance implemented by the district is Rp1.08 billion," he explained as quoted by Antara.

Head of the Bulukumba Tourism Office Muh Ali Saleng hopes that the development and infrastructure of the Zero Point Area can be completed as soon as possible in order to provide the best service for tourists. By looking at the number that 90 percent of Bira visitors will also go to Sulawesi Zero Point.

"So that we want Zero Point and supporting facilities in it, such as a glass bridge and Tanjung Bira Terrace, we can complete it," he hoped.
