Jokowi Calls Surya Paloh Not Alluding To The Anies-Cak Imin Duet At Last Thursday's Meeting

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said his meeting with the Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh at the State Palace in Jakarta, Thursday, August 31, did not mention the topic surrounding the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) duet in the 2024 presidential election contestation. "Yes, the usual meeting, the usual meeting, yes, we did meet, yes, the usual meeting," said President Jokowi, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 1. Jokowi said the meeting did not discuss the plan for the Anies-Cak Imin duet as the Presidential Candidate and Vice President of the Republic of the Republic of Indonesia which was carried by the National Awakening Party (PKB) and NasDem. "Nothing at all, nothing," he said. On that occasion, Jokowi also responded to reporters's questions about the news of the split of the coalition for the Change for Unity (KPP). "That's the business of party leaders. The matter is not the President's business," he said. Previously, the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh met President Joko Widodo at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, Thursday (31/8) evening, discussing the matter of the relatively calm political situation. "Yes, I chatted with friends (President Jokowi) for a long time. There was (political talk), how the atmosphere of the political situation, saying we are grateful, the atmosphere is calm," said Surya Paloh in NasDem Tower, Jakarta. Suraya met Jokowi on Thursday evening at the Palace. He did not explain how long his meeting with President Widodo.
