Paspampres Person Involved In Murder, Jokowi: All Are The Same In The Eyes Of Law

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo responded to unscrupulous members of the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) who were involved in the alleged kidnapping, extortion and persecution that caused a person to lose their lives. Jokowi emphasized that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law. "Yes, it has been submitted to the legal process. Respect the existing legal process, everything is the same in the eyes of the law," said Joko Widodo briefly after opening the XVIII National Working Meeting of Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Himpi) at ICE BSD Tangerang, quoted by ANTARA Thursday, August 31. It was previously reported that there were three TNI soldiers suspected of kidnapping, extortion and mistreatment of Acehnese citizens in Jakarta. One of them was suspected by members of the Paspampres. Head of the Army Information Service Brigadier General Hamim Tohari emphasized that the perpetrators could be punished more severely in the military court than the general court because they were charged with general and military criminal articles.

Therefore, Kadispenad asked the public not to worry because no TNI soldiers have received impunity or are above the law if they violate the rule of law. "Be sure (the legal process) will be carried out thoroughly and we guarantee how the suppression and affirmation of the TNI Commander many times that there is no impunity for members of the TNI who commit criminal acts, both general and military. In fact, once again, maybe it can be more severe because there are two articles, general and military crimes we will apply," said Kadispenad last Tuesday.
