City Government And DPR Discuss New Law On Bogor City

BOGOR - The Bogor City Government, West Java, together with the DPR have formulated a new Law on Bogor City which will contain several important things such as regional boundaries, new government centers, characteristics and city symbols.

Head of the Legal and Human Rights Section of the Bogor City Secretariat, Alma Wiranta, said that the formulation of the new Law on Bogor City was a derivative of Law number 10 of 2023 concerning West Java Province.

"So West Java has been published, Bogor City has begun to discuss with the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission II. There are seven articles later. It revokes Regional Regulation number 13 of 1955, no later than the end of the year is published," Alma explained, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 29.

Alma conveyed that the formulation of the Bogor City Law would clarify regulations that rely on new laws, because the Regional Regulation number 13 of 1955 was no longer physical and relied on the law of the Dutch colonial era.

On that basis, he said, Commission 2 of the DPR through a team of experts on the formation of cities/regencies in West Java with the Bogor City Government formulated the amendment to Law no. 16 of 1950 became a new law on Bogor City.

The Head of Law and Human Rights of the Bogor City Secretary explained that after enacting Law Number 10 of 2023 concerning West Java, the Law on Bogor City will also be issued no later than the end of 2023 as the result of a joint meeting with the assessment team from the DPR RI.

This also confirms that hierarchically to revoke the Bogor City Regulation Number 13 of 1955, which is 68 years old, by comparing the current situation, it is time for Bogor City to have its own law.

He said that the new law would include Bogor's anniversary every June 3, city characteristics, city symbols, regional boundaries, and the center of the new government of Bogor City.

Alma explained that this formulation is part of the identification and analysis of regional law products. The results of the inventory until the end of August 2023, as many as 146 Bogor City Regional Regulations that are still valid, including 35 Regional Regulations with the status of changes from the parent regulation, and 111 other regional regulations are still under review to be analyzed whether it is necessary to make changes or still valid.

According to him, so far it has been quite productive between the Bogor City Government and the Bogor City DPRD in producing regional regulations, based on recapitulation from 2015 to 2018 it produces around 6 regional regulations, and in 2019 to 2023 an average of 14 regional regulations will be produced, while under 2014 the average will produce 4 regional regulations.
