Chairman of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the United Development Party (PPP), Sandiaga Uno emphasized that his party will continue to consistently cooperate with PDIP to support Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election.

This was emphasized by Sandi after attending the Bappilu Coordination Meeting which was held at the At-Taqwa Mosque Hall, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Sunday, August 27.

"There is no alternative, we are bound by political cooperation. We do not discuss alternatives, we focus on signed political cooperation. Our struggle with PDIP has been confirmed," said Sandi.

In this coordination meeting, Sandi said, the cadres were also reminded to remain istikamah with what had become a decision.

"So we convey to the cadres not to have some thoughts, but just focus, istikamah. Because indeed in PPP this is the first point in their struggle is worship. We will continue to fight for what we have agreed on," said Sandi.

Previously, the Acting Chairperson of PPP, Mardiono, explained the reasons for supporting Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. PPP hopes that Ganjar will be able to run a government that is amar ma'ruf nahi munkar through religious political principles.

"Want to entrust amar ma'ruf nahi munkar politics to him, to be implemented in the political order of state government in the future through religious political principles," said Mardiono, recently.

Mardiono believes Ganjar Pranowo has the same vision as PPP. This is because Ganjar comes from the Nahdlatul Ulama or NU family.

"Because PPP believes that with a culture originating from the Nahdlatul Ulama family, he must have almost the same vision as the United Development Party," he said.

Another reason, said Mardiono, was that PPP wanted to resume political support for Ganjar Pranowo. The same thing was done by PPP when supporting Ganjar Pranowo-Gus Taj Yasin in the 2018 Central Java Pilkada.

"Similar support has been given by PPP in the 2018 Central Java Provincial Election, PPP has led him to become the Governor of Central Java in pairs with the United Development Party cadre Gus Taj Yasin who is the son of the late KH Maimun Zubair," said Mardiono.
