Mount Merapi Launches Incandescent Lava Drops As Far As 900 Meters

During the observation period Tuesday, February 2 at 00.00-24.00 WIB, Mount Merapi was recorded 10 times launching incandescent lava avalanches with a maximum gliding distance of 800 meters to the southwest with measured deformations from Babadan Post an average of 0.3 cm per day in three day.

The BPPTKG still maintains the status of Mount Merapi at Level III or Alert.

The volcanic lava and hot clouds of Merapi are thought to have an impact on the south-southwest sector, which includes the Boyong, Bedog, Krasak, Bebeng, and Putih rivers.
