Mataram City Government Plans To Raise Salaries Of 3,576 Honorary Employees, Walkot: Hopefully Approaching UMK 2023

NTB - The Mataram City Government (Pemkot) plans to increase the salaries of non-state civil servants (ASN) or honorariums totaling 3,576 people.

"I have asked the Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD) to conduct a study on the increase in honorary salaries," said Mataram Mayor H Mohan Roliskana in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Thursday, August 24, as reported by Antara.

Mohan has not yet mentioned the range of the planned increase in salaries of honorary employees. However, he said, the determination of the increase in salaries of honorary employees will be adjusted to the government's financial capacity.

"The important thing is that our honorary employee salaries go up first. Hopefully, the increase can approach the Mataram City Minimum Wage (UMK)," he added.

Mohan added, the UMK in Mataram City is around Rp. 2.5 million in 2023.

Regional Secretary of the Mataram City Government Lalu Alwan Basri confirmed that the Mayor of Mataram had proposed an increase in honorary salaries to TAPD.

"It's not only honorary salaries that will increase, but also the salaries of the head of the neighborhood and RT," he said.

"Currently we cannot give an idea of the amount or percentage of their salary increase. Hopefully, the salary increase can start as of January 1, 2024," he continued.

According to him, the number of honorary (non-ASN) employees within the Mataram City Government is 3,576 people and the number of environmental heads in Mataram City is 325 people.

In Mataram City, according to city government data, currently the salary of honorary employees is around Rp. 1.3 million per month, the same as the salary of the head of the environment, and the head of the neighborhood unit gets a salary of Rp. 250 thousand per month.
